Testimonials

I am happy to endorse Jennifer Cooke for the fabulous job she did with visiting Carpe Diem. Jen taught a wonderful class on the different learning modalities. What was so great about her class was the additional styles beyond the visual, audio and kinestetic mainstays. And what was so refreshing about Jen is her teaching style. She is so positive, and she provides a wealth of knowledge.
She is a true gem.

-Mary Ashford, Director, Carpe Diem Chorus

Over the pandemic we had Jen join us to warm the chorus up, but she did much more. She explained amazing singing concepts, helped our singers improve collectively and individually, and inspired us to be the best possible singers we could be - all this over Zoom. I highly recommend Jen as a coach and look forward to working with her again in the future!

-Jordan Travis, Director, A Cappella Showcase

Jen has “zoom-coached” our chorus a few times and she is fantastic! After our first session, my chorus said that it was their most favorite coaching session ever!
Jen is excellent at vocal production and has a way with teaching and helping the singers feel successful. She is very fun(!), answers all questions thoroughly, will do a quick PVI on the-spot to clear something up, has an amazing ear, and of course has all of the tech skills for a smooth session.
We have another session scheduled!
I highly recommend Jen for both chorus and quartet zoom on coaching.

-Jill Watson, Director, Grand Traverse Show Chorus; Bass, Sashay Quartet

Sounds of the Seacoast (HI) loved having Jen visit us through Zoom during the pandammit to teach us a class! We learned all about different ways people learn. It was not only very eye-opening, but relative, interesting and fun. We loved spending time with her and can't wait to do it again (but next time, in person)! Highly recommend ... 5 stars (and hearts)!

Jennifer Cooke is a wonderful coach, teacher, mentor, performer, director, and person! She coached my chorus, Maiden Vermont, twice on zoom, and received rave reviews from the chorus members. In my summary to the chorus I wrote "Jennifer Cooke is personable, knowledgeable, kind, supportive--and a fab educator." She geared her sessions to what we needed most, and helped us problem solve together. Session One dealt with quartet information, then vocal production, then how choruses have been coping with covid. Session Two dealt with learning styles and how to change up the teaching to maximize effectiveness. Once we identified our own learning style, we were able to bring this awareness back to our weekly rehearsals.
Jen has a huge bag of "tricks" and is fluent in all chorus and quartet matters. She can illustrate vocal issues with her lovely voice, she can help directors with conducting, interpretation, stylization....she is fluent in the barbershop style and knows how to help where it is needed most. I've been a choral conductor (1969) and Barbershop director (1983) and front row Ramapo Valley (1986-2002)--and I learned some great things from Jennifer. I highly recommend her as coach, mentor, and supporter of your best efforts.
